Home UpNorman 10: Mt. Williams

Mt. Williams was the tongue-in-cheek name given to the mound of earth built during the Second World War as a backstop for the Navy's shooting range.

The mountain in all its glory, but also in its last days. Earthmovers were preparing the site for the University Town Center, a Supertarget its first tenant.

In the distance, Interstate 35.

Shall we go closer?

The concrete wall sheltered targeting machinery.

A view from the other end.

Down in the trenches: gears to hoist targets.

Three years later.

Plenty more to come.
